IPneo at Mobile World Congress 2012

In February 2012 IPneo attended Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona,Spain.
The largest mobile event in the world this year made more than 60,000 visitors along the event's four days.

We were part of this event to present our joyn client for desktop, mobile phones and tablets.

GSMA showed great support for joyn. Every single day during the event there was an artist painting a wall with a beautiful joyn branded painting like the one below.

The image below shows our demo pod in GSMA pavilion, it wasn't tidy like this during the demoing shift. It was overloaded with our iPhones, iPad, Android Phones and tablet.

Our visitors were impressed by our joyn client implementation for PC, mobiles and tablet.
The design of the application made the user experience great. The users didn't need guidance to be able to use the application. It was very clear to them. Quoting join's slogan, "It's just there, it just works", Our joyn client was a real example of this slogan.

We were courageous enough to show our demos LIVE on the LCD attached to the demo pod.
No presentations, no previously recorded videos. Just LIVE demo :)
We connected our Acer Iconia tablet via HDMI cable to the LCD and demoed live against our clients on iOS, Android and PC. It was amazing, visitors were impressed by the quality of the user experience design and functionality of our joyn client. They were amazed to experience video calls with high resolution between our PC and our Android joyn clients.

What gave us that courage to show the LIVE demos on the LCD was that:

  • We have the best IMS client Framework stack available in the market. Recently this framework received the IMS Industry Award for the best IMS Client Framework. It's cross platform and it is the engine behind all of our joyn clients on all platforms.
  • Our investment in user experience design made the client very easy to use and our beautifully designed graphics made it attractive to the visitors.
  • We had a great variety of platforms to show our joyn client up and running on, including Android (Mobiles & Tablets), iOS (iPhone & iPad) and our Windows PC Client which works also on Linux and Mac.

All in all the event was a great experience and great opportunity for exposure to the key players in the IMS and joyn ecosystem. We hope that it can be repeated the next year and we hope that GSMA will keep up the great work done in joyn. It's surely going to completely change the way people communicate today.
